Double Dexter

Double Dexter starts with Dexter Morgan facing one of the few things that can truly rattle him: being seen. For years, he has kept his double life carefully separated—helpful blood-spatter analyst by day, killer by night—but that control starts to slip when someone witnesses him in the act. From there, the novel takes on a more personal kind of tension than some of the earlier books, because Dexter is no longer simply hunting from the shadows. He is being watched, followed, and pushed by someone who seems to understand exactly how to threaten the life he has built. The premise keeps the series’ dark humor and moral unease, but adds a sharper cat-and-mouse edge, turning Dexter’s usual sense of control into something much more fragile.
